Top Ten for Cody Pruitt

Last Saturday Cody Pruitt and the HPS Mechanical/Lenox Homes team competed in the SRL race at Stockton Speedway. Emotions ran high since this was the final race night for the popular 1/4 mile track. Because of all the celebrations the turnout of fans and teams was huge. Pruitt used the opportunity to show he can compete with the best. After a mechanical problem during practice the team rushed to get the car ready for qualifying and Pruitt was able to qualify 11. Cody raced well and was running 4th when an accident sent him spinning. He was able to recover but was at the back of the lead lap with only a few short laps left. Pruitt raced hard and was gaining on the leaders but did not have enough laps to catch them and finished in a respectable 9th. With the season coming to a close, Pruitt and the whole No. 1 team are fighting hard to finish well in every race and move up in the points standings.

This upcoming weekend the team will be racing at Altamont Raceway Park with the Southwest Series car. Pruitt has experience at the new track from earlier this year and looks forward to the competitive track. He is looking to qualify well and finish with another top ten.

Pruitt Moves up in the Points Again

Last Saturday the Southwest Series met the Midwest Series for a showdown at Colorado National Speedway. Cody Pruitt and the Lenox Homes/HPS Mechanical team had high hopes for their car: qualify for the race and finish well. The team struggled through qualifying but Pruitt battled his way into the race during the B Main. Pruitt raced a solid race finishing 13th out of the Southwest Series cars, reaching his goals and expectations. With another consistent race Pruitt has moved up to 13th in the overall points race and 3rd in the Rookie-of-the-Year points.

The No. 1 Southwest team will race at Altamont Raceway Park on September 23rd. If you can't wait until then to see Cody, the team is also planning to compete in the SRL race coming up at Stockton Speedway on September 16th.

Preparing for Colorado

Last time the Lenox Homes/HPS car was at CNS the team struggled through the entire weekend. However, this time around Cody Pruitt and the whole team is geared up for more success. The team has been finishing more consistently and holding onto a top 15 position in the points for the last few weeks. The team hopes to take this momentum and experience to qualifying and finishing better at Colorado National Speedway this coming Saturday.

The United Power/Touchstone Energy 150 will include the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Midwest and Southwest Series so it is set to be a heated race. The two series are huge rivals and last June Josh Vadnais, a leading Midwest Series driver, won the race. This time around the Southwest Series drivers are looking to win and show their strengths.
